Perhaps it's programmable and you can replace beer with your preferred beverage.

I aslo can't figure out how to switch between wife/mistress/office fling modes on it

You have to get separate 3 remotes. They tried making each remote work for all 3 modes, but each mode would found out about the other 2 modes, and would then stop working entirely.

There is a "patch" available by which "beer" can be changed to "red wine" or "klippies 'n coke" unfortunately these are currently the only options :-)

and the "patch" will be made available in a future software release. Unfortunately no time scale can be provided as to when the next software release will take place.

Thanks for all the comments!

The shape of the multi-function button is indeed one of the items that will be re-examined. (I agree the current shape does promote accidental ff/ rewind when you just want to pause)

The new remote will have at least 4 programmable modes and retain all the current functionality. (With one or two small refinements)

P.S. I am the product owner for the next generation PVR and I am proud to say there is a really superb team working on the project (which is a quantum leap more complex than anything done previously).

Can't wait!
Hopefully it's got a bit more storage (external option would nice) and a lot more processing power.

Yes I have! A blob of Clear Prattleys to fill up the concave, molded smooth and just left on the table, no explanation or drawing attention to anything, to see what the "familie" reaction would be is clear! There was an immediate response," what did you do?" "this control now works" says the daughter with the long finger nails!

Absolutely amazing!

Is it possible to raid an old SDPVR remote and swap the buttons? Is this button moulded together with other buttons?
I've never opened a MC remote before, so I have no idea if it would be possible.
