Default UEC 4 Tuner HD PVR REBOOTS

So here we go!
MC have now found a way to make the SDPVR unusable. Now they have started on the UEC 4 tuner. Reboots every 6 hours in prime viewing time, some of which cause the decoder to reset to defaults.

Tell me again MC that this is not deliberate!!!

Apart from the reboots, now we lost recordings on sabc channels tonight. No indication of why. All the TBRs are in place. The schedule reflected them this morning but all were missing this afternoon.

Anyone know what the latest Smart Card version should be of the older decoders?

All sorts of anomalies in the recordings that did take place last night. Sound no picture, picture no sound, both missing, and recordings that don't want to play.

I also had a recording error last night on a Kyknet recording scheduled for 18:01 to 18:31. At around the half way mark around 18:15 the recording just jump to 18:31. The recording show a recording length of 31 min. At the midway point the recording jumps forward to show the end of a advert break and the opening portion of the next scheduled program as it should with a 1 min safety net. The recording is only 15 minutes long although it reflects a that the full 31 min was recorded.

Woes continue every six hours but reboots have stopped over the weekend.

Strange channel freezes, play back of recorded programs does not start, and loss of sound.

So now MC keeps on fiddling with the UEC decoder ---- Over the weekend, the decoder was defaulted to default settings causing me to lose access to the new transponders. Now again a few minutes back, the decoder rebooted and the defaults were again set!

Why cant MC leave well alone ?????

Geoff you saw Phil's response on the SD PVR - we're not fiddling with these decoders at all, they are just reaching end of life. That is what happens with technology if it is struggling to process information.

Now that I am trying to do without the SD PVR, I need to rely on the UEC decoder for a stable power supply to the LNB.

BUT with the latest stunts MC is pulling, the decoder LNB power is unstable leading to the loss of the required 18 volt for horizontal reception. This leads to the loss of horizontal channels that then causes the decoder to rest to defaults which then cancels the customised settings and the subsequent loss of reception of the not hi band transponders. Up to the weekend, it looked possible that I would've able to switch off the SD PVR completely. But now with is latest dirty trick of MCs it looks like without a stable permanent PSU for a MS or LNB , the UEC decoder will also be unusable.

Comparing the situation with the PACE decoder I find that this decoder does NOT cut power to the LNB on a channel change.

There is no other explanation therefore except to conclude that this is a deliberate and calculated move on MCs part to get the UEC decoders also out of the system.

Angry Relentless Attack on the 4 tuner continues

Now that I have sorted out the power issue on the EUC 4 tuner decoder, I find the next problem.

MC is now doing what it did with the SD PVR. They cut back on detailed information about the EPG with the data for the 8th day being incomplete. What this in turn does is it BREAKS the continuity of using series recording functionality on this decoder, leading to loss of recordings and an accumulation of series settings.

There is no doubt anymore. MCs attack on the functionality of the older decoders is relentless. They will keep this up as a new strategy to force their customer base into a continuous cycle of decoder replacements.
Next on their radar will be the 4 tuner Pace, then the 2P, and then the model 1 Explora.
