So just an update on my *wonderful* experience with customer service.

I email DSTV support, querying the billing on my account.

I get a reply telling me to email Showmax. So I email showmax, and I get a reply telling me that I need to email DSTV. I am now stuck in the never ending proverbial ping pong game between departments where I find myself being the ball.

MC Brenda also has not assisted me after saying she would.

Why do customers have to fight tooth and nail with you guys?

I posted this under DISCUSSIONS but it will likely not be picked up by the mods. MC should consider a "Showmax" under the value added section.
I am copying my original post here with the hope of MC replying to my post

I received the following email from Showmax this morning

We have been notified that that your Showmax subscription, billed through DStv South Africa, has been put on hold.
To make sure the credits don't roll on your favourite shows, please get in touch with DStv South Africa to discuss your billing status.
If adding your Showmax to your DStv South Africa account is no longer a convenient way to pay you can:
1. Switch to paying by credit card or PayPal! It's quick, easy and you can cancel at any time. No contracts. No catches. And no need to hit pause on your favourite shows.

Exactly what does this mean. I am confused.

I suggest you speak to Showmax - nothing has changed on our side. Pls email them back and ask for clarification.

Jan, MC aren't handling these queries. I'm sure you know it's also the time of year that some people go to sleep on the job so you may get a response next week, or maybe try pushing via their switchboard.

Someone pointed out that the wording of the erroneous letter suggests that it could be a fault that lies with MC's billing system, so perhaps worth investigating anyway.

I agree with Optimist it could be a miscommunication somewhere. Having said that it would best to contact Showmax support anyway.

Herewith a quote from the email I received from support

Seems like this may have been sent in error. When checking your account, I can see that it is active and in order. Would best suggest that you ignore the communication.
