Default Explora + Explora 2A

Howzit all

I've just installed my new 2A in the bedroom, got the user bands etc sorted. I just need some advice regarding the Xtraview setup.

The original Explora is in the TV room and is or was the primary decoder. I've had the call center break the link between it and my old HDPVR. Both Exploras are now connected to the LMX500, I've removed all the old RF cables as they aren't needed. I believe that the Explora 2A needs to be set as primary, is this correct? Are there any settings on the decoders that need to be configured?

Thanks for any help, the call center didn't seem too clued up.

Had the call center swap the 2A to primary and the old Explora to secondary.
Waited around 20 minutes without receiving a heartbeat on the old Explora. Had a spare diplexer around, DC pass leg into LNB input and the other into RF In, working like a champ so far

That is all correct so long as the duplexer is behind the Explora 1.
No shared user bands or frequencies.
I presume you have accepted that content sharing from both decoders via RF is now no longer possible as you have removed the RF cabling?
All the fun is now gone. Two dumb decoders each serving a single TV....

Thanks Geoff. 24 hours later and everything's going like a Boeing. I'm quite impressed to see how much Catch Up and Box Office content the 2A has managed to catch so far.

With regards to RF distribution, I can't remember the last time we actually used it, but I'm thinking of using the old cables to hook up one of our spare TVs to the old Explora in the TV room.

That would be no problem as the RF OUT ports are free if you connect the diplexer to the RF IN port.

Ja well no fine, CU is something us low end package sub's have to tolerate on their decoders but can't use, so it is worthless as far as we are concerned.

Thanks Geoff. The spare TV (AKA the Xbox TV) is now running off the older Explora's RF Out.
