Default Single View to Dual View HDPVR Upgrade

I am moving at the end of the month and the house where I am moving to has a dish with a single LNB, which I want to convert to a dual view with a HDPVR 2P on one side and 1110 on other side but want to replace that with another HDPVR 2P end of next month.

Now my question is, should I go with a dual LNB with a 2x4 MS or should I go for a quad LNB or 4x4 LNB? BTW what is the difference between quad and 4x4 LNB?

Also what option would be the cheaper one? What is the average price of the required components?

The current dish is a standard dish, think its 60cm.

It depends on how far apart the 2 rooms are:

If the rooms are very far apart, and you defintely want the decoders in separate rooms, then consider:

a 2 antenna installation, each with its own TWIN LNB

If the antenna position is roughly half way between the two rooms then:

(1) You will be better off with a Quad LNB - 2 cables going to each room.

OR

second prize a SATCR LNB with 2 legacy ports - the SATCR feeding one of the decoders, and the 2 lagacy ports feeding the other decoder

A TWIN LNB with a MS really only suitable when installing the decoders in the same room

A Quad (Universal) LNB has 4 ports, all capable of picking up HORizontal and VERtical transponders which is what the HDPVR2P decoders need.

A 4x4 ( Quatro) LNB has 2 VER and 2 HOR ports, which is NOT really suitable for use with MC decoders ---

UNLESS at each decoder point you also install a MS

IF the two rooms are completely independent of each other (home and a Granny flat), where the two subscriptions are separate, AND each point wants two decoders linked with XV, then a QUATRO is a good solution, because a 2 x 4 MS gives the added flexibility.

Ironically, the last time Quatro LNBs was suitable was with the SD PVR ---- because the SD PVR had one VER and one HOR port with an internal MS -----

Just a update, I eventually went the dual lnb and 2x4 ms route. Everything is working 100%, just had some problems with the hearbeat that was a bit delayed but then I shortened the hb cable from 25m to about 18m and working perfect now.
