The software rolled out to half of the Explora's this morning, and rolls out to the rest tomorrow morning (early). If your Dstv Explora doesn't have it by 7am you can manually download it.

To check if your decoder has it, press the blue DStv button, then scroll right to Watch Now. ShowMax should be the first menu item. Any queries - you know where to find us

One other thing I noticed, there is no indication of which shows I have already watched.

That's expected behaviour at the moment. This is something the team have on their list for future development. Keep the feedback coming....

Do I understand correctly that you can only livestream Showmax and not Download onto the Explora?

Hi Elizabeth, yes that's correct. Downloading for viewing later is not yet supported on the Explora but the team is working on that. You can however download ShowMax on other devices for offline viewing. Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

For the technical record, the software upgrade version is 52 / 2.

Can be checked by pressing the Help button, then going to General Information, then to Loader Status.
See "Load ver/var" on the top right of the page.

Or you can just press the blue DSTV button and the entry screen will now show a 3rd column for ShowMax titles.

Another small issue, at the end of a show, the decoder pauses the video which means you have to press stop, then the decoder asks if you are sure you want to stop.

It would be better if it can automatically go back to the menu when a show finishes.

There's a reason for this - because there is no option to resume, we want to make 100% sure that you're finished with this content - ie. you don't want to rewind and watch a particular part again. If it did automatically stop and take you back to the menu and you either weren't in the room when it finished or you wanted to watch some part of it again, you would have to watch from the very beginning again. Am sure this will change once resume functionality gets added - but will send this feedback to the team.

We hope you've picked what you're bingeing on over the long weekend

Updated software needs a tick to display that the show has been watched and one must be able to resume where we left off.
Netflix has a great "currently watching" section that needs to be added too.

Otherwise, a GREAT to have.
