Default Explora remote protocol

Hi Guys
I know that the old decoders use RC5 and then XMP1.4 and XMO1.0 have been used since.
what is used on the explora?
if its a different protocol, it may be the reason i cannot get a different remote to function
please advise
Thanx
mitch

It is a different protocol from Explora model 1 onwards, but I don't think which has ever been discussed and I don't see any tech detail in its "manual" booklet.

You can try sending a private message (PM) to MC Field Services (click on "USER CP" at the top left of the page) for the details if that could help, or use the learning option on your universal remote. For the MC A3 remote we teach it to learn one function per button at a time.

I can't help further, hope you'll give us later feedback.

Thanx for your response. Maybe the question should be:
Has anyone been successful in controlling an Explora using a (legacy) learning universal remote ? ( using an A5/6 as the source for learning )

I don't recall anything but would think some universals must have set codes for it by now. Maybe try looking through some old threads in this section for now, MC FS could be away at the moment.

By "MC FS" I did mean the same Mod. We haven't seen him since about mid December.
