Strangely, it sorted itself out Original issue was in Firefox, then logged in successfully in IE. Retried Firefox a few times (while on the phone with Solomon ) and logged in fine on the 4th attempt... go figure

Mmm… but still not good - you shouldn't have to try repeatedly before being able to log in.

I just spoke to the team, and it seems the problem arose because you cleared the cache on your browser. For the sake of other forumites, here is some instructions on how to successfully clear a cache on your browser:

Cleared the cache ? or did you mean "Did not clear the cache"?

However, just like a reboot and "switch off and restart ", "clearing the cache" is NOT a cure for all things, clearing the cache must be used carefully, understanding of the impact on all the other sites you use on a regular basis.

Never said it was Geoff - this is related specifically to the call he made to the call centre. This is to give the customer with the original query more context - so your comment is completely unnecessary.

Play nice, there's a long weekend ahead I did end up clearing the cache on Firefox just prior to the call from MC. FF was problably still in limbo. Still don't understand if I'm logged on to DSTV, why do I have to log on again to SelfService... any comments? Or is it because the Self Service 'system' is separate from the main one ?

The "double" sign on was raised by me more than two years ago. No comment was received at the time regarding why this was necessary.

Last week people experienced login issues when we tried to allow one sign on - we had to revert back to two until the issues are sorted out :-(
@ Geoff, we did take your suggestion into account, but there are integration issues ...
