Red face USB Port

Can anyone inform me what the USB port at the back of the PVR decoder is for. I am led to believe that with the correct selection of buttons it can be used to store data??

Wish it was, then I could plug in my external drive to view photos instead of firing up the DVD Recorder which has a USB port!

The USB port can be activated by MC for test purposes ? - now to find that magic sequence of buttons!
Spare decoders: SD PVR(3) PSU's, DSD 660, 1110, 1131, Explora 1.
Spare switches and LNBs: 1 x 5-1(repaired); 1 x 5-2.Numerous so called faulty LNBs that were easily repaired.
2 unmentionable FTA decoders
1.2m antenna, 8-way universal LNB, 2 x (2x6) MS, FSM permanently connected.
