Question HD PVR 2P + 1131 XTra View + 3rd TV

I have an HD PVR 2P & 1131 decoder as Xtra View, but am unsure on how to connect a 3rd TV.

My current connections are as follows:
Both cables from Dual LNB to 2x6 multi switch input, 2 cables from multi switch output to LNB input 1 & 2 on HD PVR 2 (in lounge), 1 cable from multi switch output to LNB input on 1131 decoder (in another room), 1 cable from RF Out on 1131 to RF In on HD PVR, for heart beat. Everything works well and picture quality is very good..... BUT how do I now connect a 3rd TV.

Can anyone assist.

Thanks

Andrew1808.

Where do you want to connect the 3rd TV from?

The HD PVR in the lounge? ---- then easy connect to the RF OUT on the HDPVR

The 1131 in the Br ---- more complicated as you now have to fiddle around a bit with the HB cable

Do you want the remote 3rd tv to be able to control the decoders and if so which decoders? What do you want to use for temote control -- TVLINK eye or blasters

Thanks for your reply,

Connecting the 3rd TV from the HD PVR will be fine. Connected TV to RF out from HD PVR but picture quality is poor. Any suggestions?

No need to have a remote for the 3rd TV.

Thanks

What is the distance of the 3rd tv? The hd pvr is fairly poor with rf over distances. In the hd pvr setting you can change the rf channel to a lower number this should improve the picture quality

Which signal is poor? the one from the HD PVR or the one from the 1131?

have you made sure both decoders are not trying to use the same RF channel number? The default is RF channel 63 and unless you have chnaged at least one of the decoders ro be on another, the 2 signals will interfere with each other = poor quality.

Change either decoder to be at least 2 channel numbers away from the other (say HD decoder on 63; and 1131 on say 61 or less)

Then if the cable to the 3rd TV is long, you may want to consider selecting RF channels in the 20-26 range for both decoders, but make sure that they are on different numbers.

Retune the 3rd TV to receive these new channels.

BTW, in this setup, you will be able to install a TVLINK eye to allow control from the 3rd TV of BOTH decoders.

HD PVR: XV menu: set decoder modes to Accept TV1; "relayed commands "ON"; "relay comminds "ON"

Equipment menu: "enable" TVLINK

1131:

respond to "TV2"
Ignore "TV1"
Ignore. 3,4
