Default Incorrect logo use (Dolby)

A long time ago I complained about the incorrect use of logos used, namely

HDTV and DD D (An attempt to indicate Dolby Digital)

Although the first one has been corrected to HD on the various platforms, the second one hasn't. Not only does it just look shoddy, but it is incorrect.

Dolby Audio Brand Guidelines

As you can see on page seven, the DD D symbol isn't and has never been an approved logo.

However, with space constraints the double DD symbol is allowed on it's own (page five), but possibly DD 5.1 might work for DSTV (page 17).

Please can you forward this to the relevant departments as applicable.

Where I've used DD it's to indicate the Dolby Double D logo.

Examples of DD D are scattered across the various products. Explora, HDPVR, SDPVR, etc.

I think HDTV has been mostly corrected to HD, I think the last time I saw one was on catchup on the HDPVR and it might still be there (I'm away at the moment so can't check).

Thanks. Is this in the EPG, or Catch Up EPG or on ads? The more info the better. I will pass this alert on in the meantime - not 100% sure who is the best to action - but will forward to a few. Thanks for flagging.

Sorry I can't help more. I'm away from home for a while, otherwise I would have looked for you.

I'm sure there's a newbie (or intern) just itching to look for all instances of HDTV of DD D across your products.

Thanks. Have sent this to the teams that look after the software for the various decoders. Older decoders aren't getting software changes, but the team will investigate on those where changes are possible.
