Arrow BoxOffice 101: Tips for making the most of DStv BoxOffice this weekend

DStv BoxOffice is a new movie rental service for DStv Premium PVR subscribers. For just R25 per movie, you can rent a selection of up to 15 Blockbuster movies to watch as many times as you like in a 48-hour period. And the first movie is on us!

Here are some quick tips to make sure that you get the most out of DStv BoxOffice:

Make sure you are signed up
Before renting any movies, you need to make sure that you're registered for BoxOffice by SMSing your smartcard number to 37569. You'll receive SMS confirmation once your BoxOffice account is open.

The 30-minute rule
If you’ve rented a movie and sent us the rental code but haven’t received an immediate response, don’t panic. Even we experience increases in peak-time demand for our services.
You should receive a response from us (an SMS or on-screen confirmation that your movie is ready to be viewed) within 30 minutes. If not, please check if the status of the movie you rented has changed from “rent now” to “view now”.
If you still see “rent now”, you’ll need to repeat the rental steps again and generate a new rental code. Please send it to us via SMS. Failed rentals will not be billed, so you won’t be out of pocket for your first attempt.

Book early
DStv BoxOffice movies are available for a 48-hour period once rented. That means you have plenty of time to plan ahead and avoid our peak times.
We suggest renting your movie early to ensure that it’s ready and waiting for you on your PVR when the time comes to dim the lights, crank up the surround and break out the popcorn.

The rental history
The “rental history” (accessed by pressing BLUE while on the BoxOffice screen) is an indication of any and all rental codes generated on your PVR and NOT a history of what you're being billed.
Remember, failed rentals will not be billed. And if you think you were incorrectly billed, we’ll happily rectify it if you call us during office hours with all the details and your smartcard number.

Don't forget that you can get support right here on the forums, also our FaceBook page and via twitter (@DStv) or our BoxOffice Call Centre (011) 289 2244
