Very disappointed with MWEB. A few weeks ago they advertised via individual emails

that the line speeds of their packages will be upgraded (doubled in some cases)

free-of-charge from 01 Nov 2016. What they actually 'spun' in a very subtle way was

that only the data part of their packages will be upgraded to a higher speed (huh?).

I have just changed my package from a 2Mbps line speed and an uncapped data

limit for R 349pm to a package offering 4Mbps line speed capped at 150GB data

(with uncapped night-time data) for R 375pm. I have yet to breach 70 GB data per

month so the 150GB package at a higher line speed will suit me to a T.

Thanks for the heads-up @Homealone, for some reason I didn't get to hear about this.
But in our case it does look like something has been done to our 2Mbps uncapped / post-70GB shaped M-WEB package.

Saved this more or less typical for us result a few months ago:

speedtest_net last 2Mbps.jpg

And am getting this tonight:

speedtest_net later 2Mbps.jpg

So whatever and however it's been done, looks like about a 12 to 15% download improvement, with uploads still the same.
The first reading is what's considered normal for 2Mbps, so what we're getting now is equivalent to a 2.25Mbps service.

Ha I can stay up late, no getting up early for work.
But must say that after 2 weeks in Centurion getting up at stupid times to miss the horrible traffic, being back here was as good as sleeping late.
I'm watching Stargate Atlantis again so laters skapies.

Good to have you back.

Having said that I'm now at a loss for words as to what else to say? Oh well, I'm sure Forum King or Optimist will be able to pass some comment or two. Even if it's just having a go at my being stumped for words

Since you've been gone it's been painful the way I've had to try to get people posting here. Weeks go by with nothing being said. Then someone eventually visits here and makes some sort of comment which is followed by a flourish of comments before ........ silence again for another couple of weeks. Perhaps, like you, most of the visitors are too busy these days?

Anyway, will wait to see what responses there will now be.
