Default Content Team

The name Content Team has come up in various threads over the past few months and I am curious to know just how many Content Teams there are? Is there only one Content Team who looks at various parameters across all the channels or are there specialised Content Teams for some of the Channels?

Be stupid to have someone not interested in sport to look at the Sports Channels and see if they are operating correctly. Likewise having someone who has little or no interest in movies looking at the content of the Movie Channels.

I don't for one moment suggest that there should be a Content Team for each and every channel but that when evaluating a channel, or group of channels, the people doing so should be those that have an interest, other than just doing a job, in these channels.

Apart from acting on queries raised on these Forums just what else do the Content Team actually do? There have been numerous queries raised over the months on issues which one would have imagined that the Content Team would themselves have identified but were only acted on once something had been posted on these forums.

Should some of the statements above be wrong and I am way offline then I apologise and will add a well done to Multichoice but be that as it may I would still like it if someone could clarify the work done by the Content Team(s) please. Numbers on the Content Team and does one team cover the whole Multichoice bouquets or are there more than one team. Any other info regarding the Content Team would also be appreciated. Or is this all "in house" info and not available to the general public?

Thank you

The Content Division is divided into a number of different specialist areas:
- Content specialists who assist in the acquisition of content and channels, including negotiations with channel suppliers
- Content performance managers who look after a specific grouping of channels eg special interest such as Portuguese and Indian channels, local content channels, and various groupings of international channels. They commission research on each channel and ensure channels adhere to the performance agreements
- Platform managers who look after the quality on the platform and are also responsible for testing and bringing on board new channels, including ad insertion

Other than that I can't actually share any more information with you as to the inner workings of the team. Suffice it to say it is a fairly sizeable team of people who are specialist in their areas - off the top of my head, the least experienced person has 15 years experience.

MC Marietjie thanks very much for the information you supplied. I was just worried that the Content Team were the same couple of people trying to address our many and varied problems.

Think you have answered my query thank you.

Now to wait for the TCM changes!

Yes my R600 plus a month gives me the right to complain. You tell me not to be arrogant but you seem think it is OK for you to be arrogant on many of these treads and remember it US who pay your wages. Now I am sure you will block me for daring to critise you. ( Not one ! in my message - well except that one)

@Hannah - my comment was made in jest and certainly not meant to be taken seriously (hence the smiley face at the end of it). My apologies if it caused offense.

Just to clarify - I have never accused you of being arrogant. Our approach here is to play the ball and never the man. I would never and have never personally insulted someone on this forum.

If you read the thread, you will see my comment was in response to them saying a 'bunch of seniors' - all very light-hearted.
