I watched this movie this morning and it was so cleverly placed at a time when the whole world, including the USA is moving more and more towards a National Health system.

I was really impressed with the standards in the Cuban hospitals and the idea that France has free education, health care, fantastic laws f leave and, wait for it, if you're ill and can't do your laundry, they'll send someone to do it for you!
Cool can we get that!

This is interesting seeing that we're also looking at moving towards Universal Health Care. Worth watching.

This is worth watching and I've recommended it to a lot of people. The US health care system is terrible.

Verbidia, France also have a minimum of 5 weeks paid holiday a year! When I heard this, I was overjoyed!

Sounds very socialistic to me.

There's a huge difference between socialism and communism, the one works the other doesn't.
Socialism is very successful when it is combined with real democracy.
Communism doesn't allow for democracy, it is a totalitarian policy.
When you have a wealthy society like America and Europe, where people are taxed according to their income, so that the burden of paying tax falls on the highest earners, you give them a gift like all the freebies in France so they can see what they're getting for their money.
And the poorest people, the unemployed and the indigent get to share in the wealth of the society and because education and health care are free, they are better educated and healthier and they therefore in turn, become proper contributiors to the system rather than leeches, as you have in a society where everything has to be paid for and only the most simple and ordinary health care is available to them, and education is beyond their reach, so they remain on the fringes of the society and because they don't know any better, continue to drain the society's resources.
We know from 70 years of communism that it doesn't relieve poverty, it only makes the poor poorer and the party bosses richer, and we can see from 50 or so years of socialist benefits in place in Europe that their society is getting wealthier and more educated. Take a country like Sweden that has similar social benefits to those in France, they have 100% literacy and yet in America, the richest country, well, I don't think I have to explain about America, just look at the intelligence of their last president!
A system like this would work very well in SA. Putting systems like free child-care and free education in place would take a lot of children off the street.
Also having a proper children's services organisation in place would help with our social problems, but first we have to get our ministers to give up their perks so that money can be channelled into where it will serve the interests of the country as a whole.
