I am puzzled why episode one of the #1 Women's Detective Agency was shown in Widescreen and Dolby Digital last Sunday on Movie Magic 1, but this week's episode 2 and 3 were neither in the same time slot and channel.
Surely this is an oversight? Can you make sure further episodes do not suffer the same fate?
Why would you want to watch series on the movie channels? Don't you think #1 Ladies Detective Agency should be shown on M-Net, M-Net HD or the series channel?
This would free up some time to show another movie :)

They show mini-series on the channel, and not typical series as such. I wish this show was on HD, but it is not, so the Widescreen and DD5.1 of MM1 was a close 2nd.

I am one of those who complained about this being shown on MM1. If it needs to be shown elsewhere then let it be shown on the series channel.
Series like this do not belong on MM1.

Then shouldnt there be movies on it? Why are the MOVIE magic channel showing LAME series shows like that?

Dukes of Hazzard: The beginning, or something funny. They ran out of dramas so they are showing series... .Seriously, I only see Dramas when I check the PVR for a movie, no comedies or adventures or fantasy or action... Only drama, and recently series also

Oh ye, forgot about that.... BUT IT ALSO SUCKS. It shows on Mnet and MM1. remove the series from movie channels guys:mad:

I actually agree that this program sucks big time........Surely there is something else in the cupboard to show? Why not put this on the Bots channel after all it's about that country is it not?!!

I disagree, it may not receive an Emmy nomination but it is not bad at all. Some of us enjoyed the series (each to his own I suppose).
I appreciate a program that reflects matters closer to home and there's a place for it here.
Say if gets put on the 'Bots channel' then why don't we have the American based series/programmes that 'suck big time' go back from whence they came :rolleyes:
Did anyone notice that this '#1 Women's Detective Agency' was on MM1 (7 episodes) and yet it is also on the series channel?
This is what really ticks me off about the repeats. I don't mind it, but the way shows are repeated shows that they don't give a damn as long as they get paid......................
As a compact subscriber, this show has been viewed on Mnet Series but I am at a loss to understand why there are blank spots in the dialogue on what is a family show, my settings are for original soundtrack on both options but the soundtrack has been censored. Why ??
Another issue I have regarding sound is that every time there is a power cut or I have to reboot the decoder (frequently DSD1110) the settings revert to what MC
want, ie default Family. Peraps as I am from overseas I am a bit naive here but shouldnt the default be Original with Family as a user defined option ?? Why do Multichoice see fit to make that their decision? I have reset this audio hundreads of times and it seems to me that I should not have to be doing this.

Welcome to the strange world of M-Net audio censorship. “Thou shalt hear no evil, but it is okay to watch it”. Your suggestion that English-Original should be the default soundtrack is totally logical, but M-Net won’t buy it. The whole concept of separate family and original tracks is ridiculous in this day and age; not even the public broadcasters resort to audio censorship.
MM1 is particularly bad at the moment, with either both soundtracks being censored or the sound being reversed on the family and original options. See my thread entitled “Audio Censorship – AGAIN!” in the Picture/Audio Quality section of the forum, where you will also find the thread, “Sticky: General Response to Audio Censoring".
There are two versions of most M-Net channels: those intended for South Africa and those that are broadcast to the rest of Africa. The African versions do not have dual audio options, meaning that they only receive the “family” audio. This complex setup often leads to errors affecting South African transmissions during the playout of movies and shows, which could be due to human error (in my opinion) but is usually blamed on “component failure” by M-Net. Whatever the reason, I am totally fed up with the whole situation.

Its family so that when it resets children can watch without the parents having to set it to family EVERY time. You can just set it to what you want, but stop complaining. Its for the little kiddies:p
Obviously your missing my point......anyway, dont you have parental control settings to protect kids from age restricted shows? have had to reset my decoder again twice since I first posted this. ( sorry if you take this as a complaint, actually it isnt ) there are many other forums for complaining about multchoice services...they speak volumes !

For those of you who may have missed out on this delightfull series, its now currently showing on Botswana tv ch137 at 21.30 on Wednsdays. Nice to watch without the audio censorship that DSTV imposed.;):):D
