Hi there.

I was wondering if anybody can help me?

There was a gay themed film aired on mm1 and then mm2 around 2004 to 2007 that i have watched and i just cannot remember the name of the film or any actors in the film!

I have tried everything! Searched the internet, I even called dstv, but all to NO avail!

Dont they have an archive of movies that was shown a few years ago? Or some sort of epg of a few years ago?

This film was basicaly about two men (one that is in the closet) and another struggling through a relationship.THIS WAS ONE EXCELLENT MOVIE and very infomative and it also portrays the gay person to the general public as another human beign with feelings, not some freak of nature.

If there is someone who could please help me, i would appreciate it VERY VERY much!!!

Thanks

Hi there. Checked out all of these trailers, but wasnt one of them. I can remember it was a very dramatical, romantic film set on a beach side town if i recall correctly. Thanks Funkymunkyza! ;)

could it have been The Lawless Heart with Bill Nighy and Nick Hollander?Bill took the part of a straight man and I think Nick took the part of a gay restaurant owner,it was on quite a while ago and a really good film, think it was filmed in the Isle of Man or somewhere in the UK,you would have to Google it.

It's Tom Hollander whose character was Nick, and the title was apparently simply Lawless Heart. See, for a start, the IMDb at

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0276276/

Haven't seen it (though Bill Nighy is generally good, so I'll keep an eye out), so I don't know how well it matches cvelcm's description.

yes I realised i had the characters and actors name mixed up but never had time to correct it,I do have a life other than sitting on the Forum! It would have put him on the right track though! It was a great film, anything with Bill in is great,Look out for The Boat that Rocked It's the story of Pirate radio ship Radio Caroline (think it's Caroline) the release date for S.A is about the 10th July, there are plenty of trailers available online.

Try paging through these 50 titles and see if any of them ring a bell:

Again, not an exact match as I recall, but could it by any chance have been The Sum of Us with Russell Crowe (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111309/)?

I've asked about, and so far people have suggested Shelter (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0942384/) and Making Love (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084293/). I haven't seen them and don't know if either fits or was shown on MM in the period, though.

I think I know which movie you're talking about. I watched it and it had all these Maroon 5 songs in it and their CD Songs About Jane hadn't even been released yet. So look up when Songs About Jane was released, the movie was released 1 or 2 years before that I think around 2004. I don't recall the name either though.

@lord_asriel,

The album Songs About Jane (http://www.maroon5.com/disco/songs_about_jane/) was released in June, 2002; though the singles and associated videos seem to have appeared, charted, and won awards over the next three years. There is a listing for soundtrack and appearance credits for Maroon 5 on IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1459387/), but nothing jumps out: then again, there's no guarantee that's complete.

Done a bit more research, and now I have a candidate for title: All Over the Guy from 2001 (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250202/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Over_the_Guy). Haven't seen it myself, but the discussion boards on the IMDb page note the number of Maroon 5 songs on the soundtrack (which one poster says sound slightly different from the album edits), and that the film predates the band's first studio album under that name, which may explain the lack of an appearance in the soundtrack credits list on IMDb noted in my previous - in 2001, Maroon 5 were unknown in music and film industry terms.

I see the film did include Christina Ricci and Lisa Kudrow (who rose considerably in my estimation in the appearance I'm about to note), who also appeared together in The Opposite of Sex (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120777/), which has other links of theme and cast with the later film, and is worth a look in its own right.

Dude you found it. That's the movie he's probably looking for.
